No, it's not too early to turn on the Christmas carols! www.simplyseekingjoy.com

Are you getting the Christmas itch? I know it sounds early, but I’ll explain why I believe its not too early to turn on the Christmas carols. Getting ready for Christmas early is important and beautiful. Christmas brings busy schedules, stress, financial concerns and sometimes worry. If I plan ahead though, this stress is reduced as I have time to prepare. Luckily, the Christmas season also brings joy and family and fun. If I’m prepared and keep Christmas simple, I get to spend more quality time with my family rather than stressing about specifics.

Why Christmas Carols now?

So nope, we haven’t had Thanksgiving yet, but yes our Christmas music is on. Why? Because what more do I have to be grateful for than what we celebrate at Christmas. Christmas makes me stop and ponder my family, Jesus Christ, and serving others. Christmas carols bring feelings of peace and joy that only come during this season. Thanksgiving gives me the reason to stop and show my appreciation for all that I have. This includes the beginning of this beautiful Christmas season.

During December people are nicer, more thoughtful, more courteous, more Christlike. I love that during the Christmas season it’s okay to listen to music about the Savior on the radio, talk about the Savior, and try to be like the Savior. You don’t hear anything like this any other time of the year. So, how can anyone think we start celebrating this too soon? My vote is to turn on the Christmas carols!
