During my last training trip to California I was able to make a quick trip with friends to Malibu to relax. So, what to do when in Malibu? I am no expert to the area but found a few fun treasures to recommend. Of course I’m suggesting where to grab a bite and where to go for a hike. Always my favorites!
First stop must be the Paradise Cove Beach Café located just off the Pacific Coast Highway. This ocean front café is perfectly located right on the beach, with sand under your feet and the sound of water lapping in your ear, creating a beautiful setting. I loved that while waiting for a table we walked down the beach and stopped to play at some tide pools. How much better does it get than that? And the food was great! Of course I ordered fish tacos as I always try them out while in California. Fish tacos, toes in the sand while eating, the sound of the ocean, perfect!
My next recommendation is the Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market & Patio Café. This stop was a fast food place but the food was delicious. The only downside was the long line, but it just showed how tasty the food was! Again the view was stunning. This time the beach was across the street instead of under your feet, but it was pleasant and quaint.
Of course, after the food, I recommend a quick hike with amazing views. I loved the Sara Wan Trailhead at Corral Canyon. The location was so easy to find and accessible from the Pacific Coast Highway. This hike doesn’t have to be too long to be stunning, is a little steep, but the views are worth it. Of course the ocean is the view and it was breathtaking as the sun was high and the water was blue. There were plenty of really nice houses that paid a pretty penny for that spectacular view, and I didn’t have to pay a thing for the same beauty! Just wish I could wake up to it every morning! Ah, to dream!
So what to do when in Malibu? I hope these tips will help you out!
